Jo-Ann (Cofrancesco) Walter left us
"It
is with great sadness that I tell you that my sister, Jo-Ann
(Cofrancesco) Walter (on the left side), passed away today (April 21
2013) after a long and courageous battle with cancer with her family at
her side. Jo-Ann was a wonderful grandmother, mother, sister and wife
and we will miss her dearly. May she rest in peace."
We met Jo-Ann last year in Massa di Faicchio and we will remember her
smile forever.
The picture was taken during that visit, in front of the
house where
her Grandfather Clemente Cofrancesco lived. We will miss
her too.

"That's fabulous!"
It's what John Kaye said after tasting his "gnocchi" at the Restaurant
"La Pacchiana" of Telese Terme (province of Benevento, Italy), a town
close to Massa di Faicchio, which is the place of origin of the family
of his mother Martha Kempczynski, nee Cofrancesco. Nowhere else in
Italy he could find so well-cooked "gnocchi", but in his mother's
family homeland!
He met his Italian Cofrancesco cousins for the first time!

"The snow has ended for now with a new historical record for Maryland,
196 cm and winter has not ended yet! The Federal Government will be
closed again tomorrow, a new record of 4 days in a row, while clean up
continues. At the height of the blizzard today snow plowing stopped
because it was too dangerous. We are lucky because so far we have not

Filomena Guarnieri and Giuseppe Cofrancesco of Garlasco
(Province of Pavia, Italy) celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on
April 6, 2009. They were married on April 6, 1959 at the Church of S.
Nicola of Massa di Faicchio (Benevento, Italy). They have two children,
Pacifico and Lucia, and two grandchildren, Matteo and Gabriele.

50th wedding
anniversary
Carol and John Cofrancesco of Olney, Maryland, USAcelebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a dinner for family and friends hosted by their children, followed
by a Caribbean cruise. They were married on January 10, 1959 at St.
Francis Church in New Haven, Connecticut. Captain Cofrancesco served as
a Commissioned Officer in the United States Public Health for 30 years.
He then worked for a local county before retiring a second time. Mrs.
Cofrancesco retired from the National Library of Medicine. Subsequently
they served as volunteers at Montgomery General Hospital. They have
three children and six grandchildren and have lived in Olney since
1969.

I had the chance to meet (for the first time) Antonio (Mario) Cofrancesco,
who lives in Florence from 1940. A friend of mine could identify him
while waiting at a bus stop! Simply incredible, but true!
