The "Sagra Enogastronomica"
of Massa di Faicchio on Italian RAI TV

The Italian national channel RAI TV 1 recorded their program, "Festa Italiana", at the traditional "Sagra Enogastronomica" of Massa di Faicchio. This festival, which has taken place every year since 1985, is on the third week of September. It celebrates the "Madonna Addolorata", and is organized by the Pro Loco association of Massa di Faicchio. This is an opportunity to taste the great traditional food and the excellent wine of the Titerno River Valley.

Faicchio - St. Michael Grotto

St. Michael Grotto of Faicchio is situated in a nearly inaccessible gully at the south side of Mount Monaco of Gioia, at an elevation of 492 meters. Inside the grotto there is a little chapel with a carved stone altar and many frescos. Some of the frescos, of 13th century Byzantine origin, represent the Crucifixion, the Annunciation, Jesus Christ and the Apostles, the Holy Lady, and many saints, including St. Michael. In the past some hermit monks lived in the Grotto. It is a very striking place to visit and for pilgrimages.
What you see here is an amateur video of a visit to the Grotto of a group of friends of Faicchio, during 2008.
