OSIA Logo The OSIA (Order Sons of Italy in America) was established on June 22, 1905 by Dr. Vincenzo Sellaro to help assimilate Italians into American society.  It currently has some 600,000 members who belong to one of the 700 lodges located throughout the United States.  Originally known as L’Ordine Figli d’ Italia, membership is open to both men and women of Italian heritage. In Italian figli means both children and sons.

The OSIA missions include encouraging the study of Italian language and culture in American schools and universities; preserving Italian American traditions, culture, history and heritage; and promoting closer cultural relations between the United States and Italy.
