9. Some important "missing" persons...

In 1750 we notice some important “missing” persons, when compared to 1714. First of all we do not find the family of Lorenzo Cofrancesco and Marsilia Mattei, and any of their children. Their son Giuseppe was already absent from S. Lorenzello in 1714, when he was 29 years old. We do not know anything of another son, Nicola, other than he was 15 years old in 1714. Instead of the third son Santo (Alessandro), 11 years old in 1714, we find his widow, Caterina Sagnella and all of their children living with another Cofrancesco family, but in another place, as we will see.

Another very important “absence”, in the Cadastre of 1750, is another Lorenzo Cofrancesco, half-brother of Nicola Cofrancesco (son of Francesco and Zenobia Sarracco, see previous table), living in the Rua District. Lorenzo is already recorded as a boy in the Stato dell’anime of 1714, and he is said to be son of Giulia Rubbano, first wife of his father Francesco.

These “missing” persons are so important to the history of the Cofrancesco family because the members of these two families are the first Cofrancescos moving from S. Lorenzello; the first Lorenzo originating many of the Cofrancescos of Massa and the second Lorenzo all the Cofrancescos of Cerreto.
