The Cofrancesco Reunions

1998 Reunion: The first one

The first Cofrancesco reunion was held in 1998 in Hamden, Connecticut, USA.  Most of the attendees were descendants of Cofrancescos who emigrated from Massa di Faicchio (Province of Benevento), Italy. Attendees came from as far west as Ohio and as far south as Florida.

2006 Reunion

In 2006 a reunion was held at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Most of the attendees of this reunion were descendants of Cofrancescos who emigrated from Cerreto Sannita.

2007 Reunion

The following year (2007) another reunion was held at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Descendants of Cofrancescos who emigrated from either Massa, Italy or Cerreto Sannita, Italy were in attendance.

A reunion scheduled for 2008 at this location had to be cancelled.

2009 Reunion: Another Success

The third Cofrancesco Family Reunion held at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, Connecticut on August 2, 2009 was another success.

Patty Cofrancesco hosted the reunion, with the help of Lou Cofrancesco, Maria Tonelli, Cookie Ragazino, Frank Cofrancesco, and Hugo Cofrancesco.
The 2009 reunion drew extended family members from Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Virginia. About 150 people attended. The oldest attendee, Matilda Cofrancesco Sullo, was 92 and the youngest was Gianna Aiello, 9 months. Held in the Carousel pavilion, the Cofrancescos enjoyed music by a DJ and a bountiful catered buffet featuring many Italian entrees as well as New England seafood.
