Anna Cofrancesco Sarro

Anna Cofrancesco, the oldest child of Ferdinando and Maria Cofrancesco, married Michael Sarro.  It is reported they lived on West Easton Street in Hamden, Connecticut and had four children, Fred, Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Rachel.  Anna died in the late 40’s.

No information on Anna’s immigration has been found, however a death certificate for her daughter Elizabeth shows Elizabeth was born in New Haven, Connecticut in September of 1896.  This would place Anna’s immigration in or before 1896.

Nicholas, according to his death certificate, was born in December of 1900 on Long Island, New York, so Michael and Anna may have lived in New York at some time.  Their names could not be found in any US Census records.  Elizabeth married Louis Molon, a barber from Meriden, who later became a chiropodist.  In those days barbers would also cut corns on their customer’s feet, besides giving them haircuts and shaves.

They had two daughters, Nancy and Betty.  Nicholas was a plumber, and married Lena Ianuzzi.  He died in Southington, Connecticut.  Rachel married a man by the name of Fabiano.  They settled in Waterbury and had a daughter named Lorraine.
