Wilmington
Delaware

Wilmington is located about 35 miles south of Philadelphia at the confluence of the Christina River and the Bradywine Creek, near the Delaware River. While it is a deepwater port city, it was never used for immigration purposes. Between 1880 and 1920 many Italians came to Delaware. They came to work as laborers on the railroad and in other types of construction.
